Repair Service Terms and Conditions

When you choose Pahoa Tech Cafe, LLC ("Pahoa Tech") to service your device, you receive a lifetime guarantee on the service for as long as you own the device and a one year limited hardware warranty on all parts used. By contracting Pahoa Tech to perform repair services, you agree to the following conditions:

Service and Diagnostic Fees

Pahoa Tech may charge a diagnostic fee, as described in your check-in documents. This fee is non-refundable, even in the event your device is found to not require service or to be non-repairable. If additional charges to cover parts, labor, or overhead are required to complete the service, you will be provided an estimated bill. Once we receive approval of this estimate, Pahoa Tech will service your device as described to you for the estimated charges stated, unless such charges are revised with your prior oral or written consent. Service options, parts availability, and response times may vary. 

Limited Lifetime Repair Guarantee

Pahoa Tech guarantees that the repair performed meets generally accepted electronic repair industry standards, and will correct any covered repair that fails to meet these standards at no cost to you. This includes standards for form, fit, finish, durability, and functionality as commonly recognized in the U.S. electronic repair industry at the time of the covered repair (“Generally Accepted Industry Standards”). You benefit from the guarantee for as long as you own or lease your device. However, it is not transferable, and is no longer valid if you sell or transfer your device. 

This guarantee does not cover failure due to device age or normal wear and tear, consumable parts such as batteries, or damage caused by improper maintenance, neglect, abuse, subsequent accident, contact with liquids, or original manufacturer defect. Any contact between liquid and the internal components in your device, whether it occurs before or after the repair service, voids this guarantee. It also doesn’t apply to any work on the covered repair performed by anyone outside of Pahoa Tech. Any such work voids this guarantee. 

To get service under this guarantee, contact Pahoa Tech at 808-207-3423 or info@pahoatech.com. You will need to  return your device to our retail location in Pahoa, Hawai'i for service.

One Year Warranty on Parts

For all service orders, Pahoa Tech warrants that all parts or products used in service will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one (1)  year from the date of service. If a defect arises in a replacement part or product during the applicable warranty period, Pahoa Tech will, at its sole discretion, either re-perform services to conform to their description, repair or replace the defective part or product, or refund the sums paid to Pahoa Tech for service.

This warranty does not cover failure due to device age or normal wear and tear, or damage caused by improper maintenance, neglect, abuse, subsequent accident, contact with liquids, or original manufacturer defect. Any contact between liquid and the internal components in your device, whether it occurs before or after the repair service, voids this warranty.

Personal Data 

You are solely responsible for backing up your data before bringing your device in for repair.

You agree and understand that it is necessary for Pahoa Tech to collect, process, and use your data in order to process sales, perform service, and confirm compliance with applicable laws. Personal data, settings, and applications may be lost or reset during repair. Pahoa Tech does not accept any responsibility for breach or loss of your personal data, settings, or applications.

Email and SMS/Text Messaging

We use email and SMS/text messaging through our point-of-sale (POS) to communicate with you regarding appointment reminders, repair updates, and, with your express consent, occasional promotional offers relevant to your device or repair history. By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to receive SMS messages from us, you consent to receive text messages from Pahoa Tech for the specified purposes. 

We do not use SMS/text messaging for promotional purposes, and will not share your mobile number with any third parties for their own marketing purposes. We send promotional messages only via email, and only to those who have explicitly opted in. 

Communication frequency varies. You will primarily receive messages related to scheduled appointments and updates on the status of your repairs. For SMS/text messaging, message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details.

We are committed to complying with all applicable 10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) regulations and guidelines through SMS services. We only send the following types of SMS messages:

You can opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying "STOP" to any message you receive from us. Doing so will remove you from all automated SMS campaigns and messages.

Abandoned Devices

After your diagnostics or repair has been completed, Pahoa Tech will attempt contact you at the email address or mobile number provided. If you have not claimed your device and paid all charges due within sixty (60) days after being notified by Pahoa Tech that your product diagnostics or repair has been completed, your device will be considered abandoned. By leaving your device in our care, you expressly agree that in the event that your product is abandoned, Pahoa Tech may dispose of, recycle, or resell your device at our discretion. Pahoa Tech reserves its statutory and any other lawful liens for unpaid charges. Abandoning your device does not negate any balance due.

Liability & Legal Notice

Pahoa Tech is an independent business and is not affiliated with device manufactures. Contracting Pahoa Tech to perform repair services may impact or void your original manufacturer warranty, insurance contract, or other terms and conditions if applicable.

Pahoa Tech will perform any action it deems necessary in an attempt to repair your device. These attempts may fail, and damaged, worn, or weakened components may fail further during the repair. Pahoa Tech does not accept liability for any component failures which may occur during attempted repair, testing, or at any other time, except those caused by technician negligence. Pahoa Tech's total liability is the amount paid for service and is not responsible for loss of profit or any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damage that occurs during or after service. 

These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us relating to our services and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether oral or written. These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Hawai'i. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be resolved by relevant regulations in Hawai'i.

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be struck and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. Pahoa Tech reserves the right to change this Agreement at any time, subject to law. A change would not affect services that have already begun.
